NPP youth accuses leadership of manipulating voter’s register, threatens court action

With barely few days for the New Patriotic Party to go for its constituency level elections, there are reports emerging that most of the current executives are working hard to retain their positions.

According to a group known as Concerned NPP Youth in the Northern region, some of the leaders abuse incumbency by manipulating delegates’ voter’s register among other tricks to retain their positions.

The group said in a statement that the Tamale Central constituency executives are seriously tampering with the register such that it would favour their chosen candidates in the coming elections.

President of the concerned NPP youth, Abdul Rashid Ibn Anderson who signed the statement cautioned that “what they are allegedly trying to do has the tendency of sending the NPP into opposition.”

The statement warned that the group will not sit aloof and watch such “manipulations” continue in the NPP Tamale Central constituency.

Speaking on Radio Tamale’s Absolute News Tuesday evening, Mr Anderson said they will head to court if the executives fail to heed their call.
