There is fear among some farming communities in the Ashanti region following reports that fall armyworms have resurfaced in some areas.
The devastating pests have caused havoc to some several acres of farms at Sokwai near Ntensere in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the region.
The fall armyworms have not only destroyed some acres of maize farms but also vegetable farms with okro, garden eggs and tomatoes.
A four-acre maize farm belonging to Mr Emmanuel Appiah has been destroyed by the fall armyworms.
He told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah other farmers have been affected by the fall army worm invasion.
He indicated that authorities have visited the affected communities and inspected some farms but no chemical has been provided to curtail the invasion.
