NPP Chairman warns aspirants against campaign of insults

Constituency Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Tamale Central Constituency, Mohammed Ibrahim has cautioned all aspirants in the party’s upcoming constituency elections against negative campaign strategies characterized by vilification, vulgar language and innuendos.

In a press statement issued and signed by his personal assistant, Mr Ibrahim said it was highly imperative for all, especially major stakeholders to remember that party members are a family, irrespective of their varied interests.

He expressed gratitude to candidates who have expressed interest in contesting for various portfolios, adding that the interest generated so far towards the upcoming elections is a sign of growth for the New Patriotic Party as far as his constituency is concerned.

Shiidimyinyaa, as he is popular called, reiterated the need for candidates to conduct their campaigns in a more decent manner.

“I have always mounted a clean campaign focused on issues. I wish to pledge my unconditional commitment to ensuring decorous campaign going into internal elections in the constituency. It is therefore my strong believe and conviction, that going into the elections, all aspiring candidates would emulate such shining example in the interest of our great party and Ghana at large,” he stressed.

He called on delegates to elect people with enterprising ideas, willing to work to consolidate the electoral gains of the party in the constituency. This he affirmed would play a key role in capturing the Tamale Central seat in 2020.
